Ground Beef Prices Hit All Time High
Not good for us or our restaurant operators!!! Ground beef prices hitting all time highs...
August Market Update from the West Coast Buyers
Beef: Price of live cattle has finally traded down over the past week and boxed beef prices should begin to trend down over the next few weeks. Top Sirloins/Round/Chucks/thin meats are the first cuts to begin to head lower.
Pork: This market has peaked and all cuts are trending down over next few weeks.
Lamb: The weekly harvest has been cut back 50% due to slow retail demand and this has kept cost high since the packers have fixed overhead costs. Expect prices to be steady to slightly higher over the next 60 days.
Veal: Prices are steady to slightly higher.
Poultry: Russia was a large buyer of legs and with the current ban this market has been hit recently. Thigh meat will be going down over the next few weeks. The breast market appears to be steady thru Labor Day.
